Hello fellow members of my famBily.

It's been over a year since the last post and I figured - what the heck - I might as well be the one to write the entry for 2009 - well considering that this was my idea in the first place. Was it? I can't even remember. That's the truth.

Anyway - since that last post not tooooo much has changed.

Ok, maybe that's an understatement.

There's a seriously large but very cute dog in the house.
The cat population has dwindled to 5.
Parents are still pretty much doing the same thing they've always done - taking care of everything.
I studied graphics and web design for a whole year and managed to pass all of my classes (though we still don't know how.) Z & I moved to Ariel this past August and I'm busy making friends and trying to fit into a cute little community. I'm currently unemployed (but hopefully not for too much longer) we'll see how that goes.
Sammy is now in her 2nd year of nursing school at Kaplan/Hadassah and she passed a 'Course Chovshim' this past summer.
Eli left to join the IDF early yesterday morning and will be their 'property' for the next 3 years - thus ends the video-game and cyber-living chapter of his life.
Brenda spent her summer in Manalapan after a hard year of high school and dove back into school again less than a week after getting back Home.
Ezri's bar-mitzvah is right around the corner and he's taking drum lessons - that kid sure can keep a beat.
Avi Chai the Dibble kid - well, truth be told I'm not sure what he's up to these days - it's hard to keep up with him and his cyber-babble. All I know is that he's pretty darn good on the computer and that he hates doing homework - he MUST be my brother.

What else?

Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in style! First we threw them a surprise party and then for the Hebrew date they got to go out for dinner and to Kad V'chomer where they painted the cutest sushi trays EVER!

We dressed up as crayons for Purim!

When we went cherry picking we entered the orchard as regular citizens and exited as warriors with war-paint.

Oh yeah, the 'rest of the porch' got turned into a 'veranda' and eventually into a windowed in florida-room of sorts.

The Polly Sukkah was expanded to an enormous size and can now seat even more guests comfortably (and away from the evil bug-attracting-light.)

AND We rediscovered the joys of muffin baking and the beauty of mini-cupcakes.

Life is moving along and we're riding the wave. It's good though - things are as they should be.

As Robert C. Gallagher said, "Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine..."

hello dear family(and anyone else reading this blog post)! how are you all doing? I'm doing great! (to all those who don't already know...i am currently in Manalapan NJ working in Camp Gan Israel (CGI) )anywayz... let me tell why I'm even posting on this blog (aside of the fact that its the Polly family blog and last time i checked i was indeed a Polly...) the story goes like this.... I was sitting here in the office doing my own thing when i suddenly decided to look at loris blog (just 2 see whats going on at home in the holy land...) and guess what she had actually posted since last time i checked! so i was scrolling down when all of the sudden i noticed the link to my blog on the side of the screen...anyhooz i got all exited and clicked on the link and of course my blog popped up! so i started scrolling down and reading my old posts(you know what I'm talking about right? just kind of wasting some time(since i had nothing else to do ever since Meira blocked face book but you can read ALL about that in my blog) when i noticed that i hadn't posted in over a year!!!!!!! so i decided to post.. anywayz...after posting on my blog i noticed the link to the family blog and i thought to myself 'hey! why not post on that one 2...!?' so i clicked the link to the blog and hit the 'New Post' button and started typing... so that's the story of why I'm posting on the family blog (oh right.. and because i wanted 2 say hi 2 all of my family members.. =] ) okie... Pesach was exceptionally nice, the Seder was the best one that I've had in years so a big thank you to the family.

so... howz it goin? anywayz yes i am on vacation... we got r report cards on friday and they gave us vacation till tuesday so im home... my report card wasnt THAT bad it was only bad... my mother was really mad at me 4 getting a 65 in english(i keep wondering y thats so surprising... considering my spelling mistakes and how chutzpa-full i am 2 the devil... :D) sammys mad cause i got a 60 in sport(i dont get that 1 either cause i dont like sport so y would i get a good grade in it? but 2 tell u the truth i wasnt expecting a 60...) other than that my report card wasnt so bad... i got a 80 in halacha and an 80 in technology... i did so bad in torah i didnt even get a grade... but at least i got a 70 in navi... so all in all my report card wasnt terrible but it wasnt any good either... and that is the story of y exactly im not in school at the moment... so anywayz i think im gonna post 2 my blog and then go watch a movie... so bye till next time :D...

Well oh family of mine... seeing as nobody has posted is has become my responsibility.

This past week has been "very fun" as we say at home. Shop till you drop, WOW we really did ; ) Lori and I have visited all the old haunts and I have managed to buy the stuff that was requested (I hope I got it all) Starting Wednesday morning my real vacation starts. OK so the informal meetings(or pick my brain) also start but it is all for good.

I found out yesterday that Lori and I could have gone on THE SKI TRIP
but alas we missed it :( maybe one of these years we will join our friends on the slopes of Vermont.

Bye for now, Iv'e gotta go get ready it's GIRLS NIGHT OUT here in Manalapan :) even if we are driving down to Deal.

I received a phone call earlier today from a most beloved sister and was informed that our most beloved grandparents wanted to take us out to eat at Normans. All I wanted to do was to go home, but someone somewhere along the line had accepted for me and so I was not able to back out or refuse to going to party. So the four of us went out to eat at Normans at five o clock in the afternoon. It was empty and cold when we first entered, but they brought all of the heaters over toward our table and the emptiness was appreciated because for once we didn't have to shout. The evening was entertaining and many funny comments were made, but I must give credit to where credit is do and award Saba with the "funniest comment of the evening" award.

So I spent my day today, as usual, doing things for other people. Started out this morning with a meeting for our shul Chanuka happening. Followed closely by research on the "www" for the happening. (I must admit that I got a few good laughs out of the surfing, ie. Family Feud:

Q. "name the month that a woman starts to look pregnant?"
A. "SEPTEMBER."
wow to think I have 6 kids and never knew? LOL other stuff was equally amusing
Q. "Name something you buy larger if you have a big family?"
A. "JEANS."
Maybe that explains my large size?????

Anyway back onto the topic at hand. When game show time was at an end I started my H.S. search for daughter #3. Did a few loads of family laundry (yes that means wash/dry & fold) the put away part I guess I will do eventually ;) OOPS just enough time to gather the stuff I needed to head out to Jerusalem to get Brenda by 15:30; head over to pick up my friends daughter to take her to the sewing machine store, turns out the machine is fine B"H. Ran my 3 errands in Geulah then off to Lori's apartment to try and find a temp fix for the window.

Well Lori I hope the temp fix works but if it doesn't feel free to call and complain. If it does work you can feel free to say thank you by calling : ) for your information while it is nice to be thanked on a blog it is really really nice to be called !!!

Got back home in time to put up borekas and spaghetti to go with the soup that I put up this morning in the crock pot... I think of everything : )

get kids into bed, wash up the dirty dishes in the sink... and now finally a few moments to have some me time and post. Boy it sure is late I better get to bed. Tomorrow Abba is going to the states for a couple of weeks life will probably get a little more hectic :)

hiyaz!!!!so ya i havnt posted to the blog in a while so i figured i should post since it was lookin all sad and in need of a new post... :) ok so wat have i been up to latley? i dunno good question...uhhhh lets see o yes i've been in school doin loads of work...lots of bad grades but some good like a 90 in english, a 81 in halacha and a 83 in navi...not to bad is it i wont tell you about toshba or math cause ya they not so good... :) o well better luck next time... ok so yes i'm gonna go play on neopets so bye till next time :D

Yay! I went to try and give blood for the first time! The guy who took my blood was really cute and had very nice eyes and he was funny and annoying, but sorry Lori. His English wasnt so good and he wasn't wearing a Kippah, so I didnt give him your phone number.
The good news: I didnt faint or almost faint or anything like that! I had "rosy cheeks" as Sara called it and she told me I was psycotic.
The bad news: He poked my vein all the way through, so the blood was no good and I have to wait another three months at least until I try again.
Thats ok though, because now that I know its not so scary and it doesnt really hurt, I'm not freaked out to give blood anymore!

I must admit, I am tired of ... Washing sheets!!! Cooking!!! And other domestic chores in other words I NEED A VACATION. O.K. guys I feel better now :)

So a funny thought occurred to me this morning. I explained to Abba that I could only eat breakfast after I finished feeding the cats (inside and out) since we are required to attend to our animals before ourselves or so it says in the good book. He then pointed out that this requirement only pertains to 'domesticated work animals'. Not to be out done I retorted that our pets(and I use the term loosely) are in fact 'domesticated work animals' They are domesticated, they are animals and they give us lots of extra work!

Our house always smells good when we are baking, which I must say does happen quite a bit more frequently than other Homes...

Sitting on our dining room table we currently have:
-Rum&Spice (Heavy on the Rum.)
-Chocolate Chip (Only most of a double batch, the rest is in the freezer.)
-Chinese Almond (with the chocolate splotch.)
-Black and Whites (unfrosted thus far.)

Hopefully we'll be making mandelbrot tomorrow & honey cake too.

What would Sukkot be without honey cake?

Hold the crunchy bits this time though.

Saba and Savta are coming over for break-fast. Lori is getting off work just in time to make it home for bagels. It happens to be Savta's birthday, which is why this is a big shin dig (is that one word or two and how do you spell it?)
I think I hurt my neck on the bus earlier. I fell asleep in a really weird position, at least my bags were still next to me when I woke up, no? I am still really tired. Falling asleep on the bus never really helps, it just makes me feel so icky.
Eema is yelling downstairs and I have a feeling that I should go help her clean up or do whatever she's doing. whoops :) Hi Mommy!

Quite Shocking... Literally!

A heartfelt thanks to Lori and co. for the "Electrifying" fun and ammusement this morning ; ] and btw the bill paying part was interesting as well.

On the school front:

Slowly the pieces have started falling into place or in puzzle terms the frame has been completed. We have sorted out the pieces according to color now all we have left to do is actually start putting the pieces together so that we can enjoy the picture. As we all know from past experiences this is a time consuming task which I sometimes fear will never be completed, and yet we play this "game" year after year. Each year I hope that I will learn from past experiences. I know that the most important key to success is organization but for some odd reason this never seems to happen. We seem to wait until the last minute and then rush and push to get everything done.

Despite Grandpa's rules we seem to excel in using force to get us moving. Maybe we have just become very Israeli in our thinking. As they say here in our homeland "What ever doesn't go with force ... goes with more force" : )

Anyway enough rambling for now I want to wish us and all of Klal Yisroel a happy healthy new year (yes it is coming up soon) A year where we each are able to grow and excel in all that we do. A year full of learning and Mitzvos. And may Hashem bring Moshiach now! (I know it is supposed to be speedily in our days but now kinda sounded better don't you think?)

Icons and Aliens...

So It all started with me downloading a couple of Computer Icons, Hoping that I could use them for all of my folders/things. Well Me being the wierdo I am Forgot that I had no idea how to use them...So I googled Descktop Icons, and here is what I found out. Not only How to change your Icons, but how to make your own too...

If you want to make your own icon, you will create an icon-sized 'canvas' using a 'painting' (image-editing) program, and fill the pixels with various colors, which will form your icon's 'picture.'

Here's how to do it with Windows Paint:

Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint.

Next, click Image>Attributes and create a 'canvas' of 32x32 pixels. This will produce a white icon-sized square. However, creating a design on a background this small can be difficult, so enlarge the view by clicking on View>Zoom>Large Size. Finally, click Show Grid so you can see the little squares which you will 'paint' with various colors.

Now comes the fun. Use the drawing tools at the left and the colors at the bottom of your work area to create your design. If you want to, say, put your initials in red on a yellow background, do this:

Left-click the yellow of your choice and then click the toolbar Paint Bucket. Click inside the white square and it will fill with yellow.

Now click on red, and then click the Straight Line tool (shown at a 45-degree angle) to begin painting your initials. Choose the Pencil to color one pixel at a time.

If you have "straight" initials, such as FTE, the drawing will be easy. Curved letters are more challenging; but this is where you get to experiment and test your creativity.

If you want to UNDO anything, Paint allows you to Edit>Undo (or Ctrl+Z) your three most recent edits.

Finally, click File>Save As, give the drawing a name, and choose BMP under "Files of Type." The drawing will normally be saved in your My Documents folder, where you can right-click it, choose Rename, and change the BMP extension to ICO.

Yeah... So this is my first ever time to post on a blog... (*whispers* Am I supposed to say something right now?)... Oh right... So today was the last day of Immas' cooking chug (They made window box cakes) So they needed chocolate for the lady bugs, and me being the wierdo I am took out my molds (For chocolate, and no they weren't moldy!) And I made chocolates. There are...Bears, happy faces, lump type things, and those swirly ones...Well that explains the title pretty much... I'm gonna go play Tremulous now.

Was todays outing to Tzfat fun or what? (We missed you Lorz! Loads and loads we did!!!) Abba you have to post some pictures and if there are any of me there, I will make Lori take them down.
Today we learned:
1)When you throw things around in the car it leads to you having to clean the car...
2)Eli smells as do my bubble gum bubbles. And dont forget the Cows... they smell too. And Avi smells like a pickle!
3)Ezri is whiney, especially when he walks into lamp posts.
4)Mommy is scared of heights and that feeling of having your heart in your throat.
5)Abba obviously isnt, since he flew down the dangerous curves while Eema was screaming.
6)They still wont let me drive...

Hair cuts yes I remember those (sigh...)

Rememeber when Chris decided that I should have my hair cut shoulder length but... forgot to tell me until after she finished : ] (4 inches is nothing compared to that)

Then again there was the time she used 2 (count them 2) dryers to try and dry my hair in half the time... only one comment on that;
Thank G-D the concussion wasn't that bad. hehehe

I wonder, why do we have an issue with hair cuts ?????

Wow! this feels sooooo official, my very first time posting to a blog and it's not even my very own :) well eventually I'll get there too.

This really is a wacky idea. Are we keeping the general public up to date or is this going to be just a family type thing?

anyway for all those who want to know my lungs are doing just fine. And did it ever dawn on you that if more of you had OCD like you seem to feel I do then you would clean up more and I could rest my LUNGS!!!!

So we made a family blog YAY!!!!! Now I get to post on 2 blogs(not that i post on my regular one anyway...)so...wanna hear something funny than listen 2 all of our wonderful ideas of wat we should call this blog...:

1:polly's that don't fit in ur pockets(thnx sammy maybe next time...and wat about those who dont know wat polly pockets r?)

2:planet polly(hmmm catchy but no sry mom)

3:life on ha-shit-a!(i dunno lori it doesnt call 2 me)

4:the shitta struggles(hmmm y r we struggling again dad?)

5:just another normal family...(ya right but it wins!)

and that is the story of how r blog got its name! :D
ok i gotta go check the laundry and wash the floor so bye!

Haha! And it was another one of mine! This has truely been a week for good ideas! Hello Family!
Seeing as this is my first post I would like to say that I hope we will make this blog exciting and worth reading. That means that all the crazy stuff that goes on here, blog about it!
Wow! There Eema goes again! Really, she should rest her lungs once in a while... stam, really!
